![]() ![]() Does that make sense?Įdit 2 - Found one answer. In this article, we will compare the four Ableton Live editions - Intro, Standard, Suite, and Lite - to help you determine. ![]() I kinda like the idea of assigning my own pads but I also like having a kit that sounds like a traditional setup. Each edition comes with its own feature set, capabilities, and price point, so making the decision of which one to choose is a significant consideration for aspiring musicians, songwriters, beatmakers, DJs and producers. I guess the idea is to piece together a kit from Core Library-> Samples -> Drums? I remember just loading a whole kit sorta before. I finally have my system optimized and tweaked where I like it so I'd rather not install Live 8 along side if it will cause any issues.Įdit - Well, I just stumbled upon the Drum Rack. Is it a good idea to just install Live 8 and use that library from within Live 9? Or would it be better so cherry pick plugins and drums from Live 8 and put them into Live 9 folders. Am I not seeing them or could it be they were only installed on Live 8? I also remember plugins (if I remember correctly) on Live 8. But to have in mind, the upgrades prices from live 9 are around 300 or less, depending on your DAW version purchased. Existing users should check their Ableton accounts for individual upgrade prices. ![]() I seem to remember having basic drum sounds that I could bang out on the pads in Live 8. Download versions for Live 10 cost 99 for Live Intro, 449 for Live Standard and 749 for Live Suite. Since then I have updated to Live 9 and reinstalled my OS. I received Live 8 with my purchase of an Akai MPK25. Ableton Live is also well-suited for sequencing out loop-based music through its Live view, while the Composer. It is especially suited to minimal techno and IDM, but is really suitable for any style of music that relies extensively on loops and samples. Basically I've been recording on one or another for about a year. Ableton Live is a perfect fit for loop-based music like electronic music of all varieties. I have tried to become comfortable with several DAWs in the past year or so. ![]()
